HACKER JOHN R., Jr. Age 93, of UPMC Seneca Manor in Penn Hills, formerly of Latrobe, died Thursday, July 2, 2015, at UPMC St. Margaret's Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born October 26, 1921, in Loyalhanna, PA, a son of the late John J. and Mary (Kubat) Hacker. John was a member of St. Rose Roman Catholic Church, Latrobe. Prior to his retirement in 1984, he was employed by Teledyne-Vasco with over 44 years of service. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the 1881st Engineering Aviation Battalion attached to the U.S. 5th Air Corps and U.S. 6th Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post #945. Throughout his life, John enjoyed automobile racing and later on he enjoyed golfing as well. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Martha (Patak) Hacker; a daughter-in-law, Andrea M. (Salamacha) Hacker; a brother, James Hacker of Lansing, Michigan; two sisters, Elsie Blasco (and her husband Steve) of Latrobe, and Shirley Folino (and her husband Anthony) of Trafford; and a brother-in-law, Robert Klym of Derry. John is survived by his son, Raymond J. Hacker, of Pittsburgh; a grandson, Raymond A. Hacker, Jr., of Pittsburgh; one sister, Karen Klym of Derry; and a number of nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 601 Weldon Street, Latrobe. She was born February 19, 1921, in Kiskiminetas Twp., Pennsylvania to the late Walter Edgar McColgin and Rhoda (Scott) McColgin. Mrs. Kennedy graduated from Westminster College in 1942. She taught music at Leechburg School District and later taught at Fox Chapel School District, retiring in June 1989. She was a member of the East Union Presbyterian Church, West Deer Twp., PA, where she was the organist and choir director for 35 years. Mrs. Kennedy enjoyed teaching music until she developed macular degeneration. Mrs. Kennedy is survived by one son, Karl Edgar Kennedy and his wife, Nancy, of Valencia, PA; one daughter, Marsha Lee Crall and her husband, Robert, of Las Vegas, NV; two granddaughters; two grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Richard Karl Kennedy, whom she married June 28, 1945, and who passed away November 1, 2005; one sister; and two brothers. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public visitation.
