CASSLER DONALD E. Age 83, of Pittsburgh, PA, died Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born October 11, 1931, to the late Austin E. and Mary C. (Currie) Cassler in Somerset, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene G. (Glessner) Cassler, whom he married on September 9, 1956; his sister, B. Joyce (Cassler) Bittner of Harrisburg, PA; and a granddaughter, Samantha K. Cassler. He is survived by a son, William H. (Sharon) Cassler of Cambridge, OH; a daughter, Ann E. Cassler of Pittsburgh, PA and her fiancé, Jim Stewart; two grandsons, Joshua C. Ribeiro of Richmond, VA and Donald J. Cassler of Columbus, OH; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends, including his best friend, Mark Vinski of Pittsburgh, PA. He is also survived by his beloved cat, Tippy. Don was a graduate of Somerset High School (Class of 1949) and the University of Pittsburgh (cum laude) with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics. He was a U.S. Army combat veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict as a non-commissioned officer in the 1st Cavalry Division. He was a member of the F&AM Cambria Lodge No. 278. He also served as the borough manager of Somerset from 1958 through 1961. He was a civil engineer by profession and was a consultant for KLH Engineers for many years beyond his retirement. Don was well-known for his model railroad, which was featured in several magazines, television segments and a video series, as well as receiving visitors from all over the world. He enjoyed a great number of friends within the hobby. Additionally, a keen interest in history prompted Don to pen the "One Hundred Years Ago Today" series, providing unique insights into Civil War history. He was also an expert on the Pacific Theater of World War II, giving talks and presentations on a number of different battles between the United States and Japan. Two Memorial Services will be held. The first will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2015, at 1 p.m. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Somerset, PA. The second will be at Don's home in Pittsburgh on Sunday, May 31, 2015, at 2 p.m. Interment will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2015, in Somerset Memorial Park. SCHROEDER ANN HOWISON WILLIAMS Wife, mother, artist, volunteer, decorator, and docent died May 5, 2015, in her Sewickley Heights home of 58 years. She was 87. Born in Baltimore, Maryland to Raymond Hartman Williams, and Edna Marie Heinekamp Williams. Mrs. Schroeder graduated from Ben Avon High School in 1943, and earned an associates degree from the Edgewood Park School in Briarcliff Manor, NY in 1947. She met and married the love of her life, Reed Schroeder, while living in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. Mrs. Schroeder worked as an interior decorator and played an active role in the Pittsburgh arts community. A member of Carnegie Museum of Art's Women's Committee, she served as its President from 1976 to 1978 and was one of the founders of the Three Rivers Arts Festival. Additionally, Mrs. Schroeder was a prolific contributor to the popular Carnegie Trees and a Carnegie Museum of Art docent. She loved life and always loved a party. Her friends would call her when they needed a giggle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Reed Schroeder, Sr.; her sister, Virginia Garland Williams Carson; and her brother, Raymond Hartman Williams II. She is survived by son, Alfred Reed Schroeder, Jr., (wife Sheila Hirons); son, John Howison Schroeder, Sr.; five grandchildren, Alfred Reed Schroeder III, (wife Mary Beth), Jesse Redman Schroeder, Elizabeth Davenport Schroeder Courtemanche (husband Edwin Webster), Lydia Williams Schroeder, John Howison Schroeder, Jr.; and great- granddaughter, Mary Evelyn Schroeder. Born December 7, 1941, in Montgomery, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Dwight and Lillian Wilhelm. Lynn was a faithful member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church LCMS in Freedom, Pennsylvania. At the University of Alabama, she was a member of the Kappa Delta Pi, Phi Delta Kappa, and the Capstone College of Education Society. She also participated in the National Thespian Society and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Lynn was a past President of the Legion of Honor Legionettes Arabia Shrine in Houston, Texas. She is survived by her husband, Edward Ohle Melberg, Jr.; her sons, Robert Clifton, Richard Lee and Davis Vail Joyner; her daughters- in-law, Kelly Joyner, Kim Joyner and Amy Ali; her grandchildren, Lindsay and Griffin Joyner, Wilbur, Miles, Gilda and Wilde Joyner; her brother, Dwight Moody Wilhelm, Jr.; her stepchildren, Jolan Smith, Eric and Laurie Melberg, and Ed Melberg III; and her beloved dog, Belle. He was born in Sewickley on August 12, 1966, the cherished son of Dominic and Josiane (Portelli) Dragojevich of Moon Township; beloved husband and best friend for ten years to Keelan (Burkholder) Dragojevich; well-loved brother of Rosemary Beyer of Moon Township, Daniel Dragojevich (Mia) of New Castle; and his sister-in-law, Cailyn Clark of Pittsburgh; son-in-law of Joanne and Timothy Dawes; many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and his adored mini-dachshund, Andre Lou. Dominic was a 1984 graduate of Moon High School and obtained his Associate's Degree from Robert Morris University. He was a wonderful administrator with exceptional organizing skills, so much so that he was sought by Albany Airport to set up its complete food section. His latest employments had been administration of The Hanger, Brighton Hot Dog Shoppe and The Pitt Stop. His whole life centered on his loving home and his work.
