ANDERSON CHARLES WILLARD ANDY Died on Saturday, January 11, 2014, at the age of 83. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, on February 6, 1930, at noon in McGee Hospital. Andy was the second of three sons born to George Robert Anderson and Blanche Brown Anderson. Graduating from Schenley High School in January 1947, he worked a number of jobs before enlisting in the U.S. Army. Upon receiving an honorable discharge in 1954, he returned to Pittsburgh. In 1957, Andy graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.A. in Business Administration. On January 4, 1964, he married Lillian J. Wilkerson of Gary, WV. By June 1964, they moved to San Francisco, where they raised their family and retired. A member of Bethel AME Church in San Francisco since 1965, he thoroughly enjoyed the spirit of Christian fellowship, working in various areas of the church. However, he considered Bethel AME Church in Pittsburgh his home church. Preceded in death by both parents; and brothers, George Anderson, Jr. and Richard Anderson. Andy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Lillian Jacqueline Anderson; two children, Patrice Anderson and Charles Anderson, Jr.; and a host of beloved nephews, nieces and cousins.
