ABRAHAM JAMES E. It is with heavy heart to report that Jim died at home on January 16, 2017, he was 65. He graduated from Dickinson College, attended USC, and graduated from Duquesne University Law School where he was bestowed one of the best young lawyers award. As an attorney, he helped many non-profits merge with other non-profits, such as the Center for the Arts and the Girl Scouts of America. He was the chair of the board at WQED, Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania and PCTV. He served on the board of the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, New Hazlette Theater, Quantum Theater, August Wilson Center and Summerset at Frick Park. Jim devoted his life to taking care of the environment and helping the community. In a proclamation from Representative Dan Frankel in the House of Representatives of Pennsylvania an excerpt reads, "The success of this Commonwealth, the strength of our communities and the overall vitality of American society depend, in great measure, upon the dedication of individuals such as James Abraham who use their considerable talents, energies and resources to serve others. He truly exemplifies the best qualities of the human experience, and his spirit of giving and dedication has greatly impacted the lives of others." Jim was born in Jeannette, Pennsylvania, the son of James and Joan Abraham, two sisters and one brother all preceding him in death. He is survived by his loving wife, Francine; stepfather of Andrew and Amy Ferraro; grandfather pap-pap of Julianna, Patrick and Kinley; and his nephew, Jimmy Lucero. Jim was an avid fly fisherman and taught his grandchildren how to fly fish. He was a member of the Rod and Gun Society at the Duquesne Club. He was one of the founders of the law firm Doepken, Keevican and Weiss. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made in Jim's name to WQED, Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania, or Western Pennsylvania Conservatory. A memorial of celebration will be held on January 24, 2017, at 9:30 a.m. at The Neighborhood Academy, 709 N. Aiken Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. Arrangements entrusted to the JOHN N.
