SNELL JOYCE A. Age 65, of Kennedy Twp., passed peacefully on January 14, 2017. Loving wife for 43 years to her college sweetheart, the late Alan Snell. Blessed mother of two wonderful children, Lauren (Wynn) Hann and David Snell; proud grandmother of Uma and Mila Hann; preceded in death by parents, Peter and Julia Muha; as well as her brother, Robert (surviving, Donna) Muha; also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Joyce was a teacher of 36 years in the Sto-Rox School District with a passion for community service. She served as a member of the Montour School Board for 18 years, as a board member for the Allegheny Intermediate Unit, and as a trustee for the Allegheny School Health Consortium and the Community College of Allegheny County. Joyce and her family were very grateful to her dear friend, Mitch Galiyas, for his friendship and selfless help throughout her courageous battle with cancer. Family will receive friends 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m., THURSDAY and FRIDAY at McDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 334 Forest Grove Road, Kennedy Twp. Funeral service will be private.
