ROCHA REVEREND VICTOR J. Reverend Victor J. Rocha, was born to life on March 23, 1928, ordained into the priesthood on August 24, 1953, and entered into eternal life on May 24, 2015. The family of Fr. Victor would like to thank Fr. Frank Mitolo and the parishioners of Resurrection Church in Brookline for their thoughtfulness, prayers and concern during his illness and now at the time of his passing. Although Fr. Victor's passing was in Mumbai, India, his heart was here in Brookline, and he would have loved to have made a last trip back to the U.S. He had many friends in Pittsburgh, and always had concern and kind words for his parishioners. Fr. Victor was a walking encyclopedia, and always imparted his wisdom in very subtle ways. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Fr. Victor was buried in India on Monday, May 25, 2015. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marilyn McKnight of Leawood, KS and his sister, Mary Elaine Kamperman of Washington, PA; he is also survived by three stepchildren, Lynn Schneider (Tom) of Overland Park, KS, Robert Lucas of Fort Pierce, FL and Gail Ross (Calvin) of Pittsburgh, PA; three step-grandchildren, Mark Schneider (Tina), Ryan Schneider (Jennifer) and Jason Lucas; James also has four step-great-grandchildren, Jack, Luke, Trent, and Gabrielle Schneider. James McKnight was a half brother of Roy and Donald McKnight, both of Washington, PA and Darlene Cannon of Cannonsburg, PA. Mr. McKnight was a truck driver for Dillie Motor Freight for 40 years and a member of the Local Teamsters 249. He was a WWII veteran having served as a sergeant in the US Army. WESTFALL LAWRENCE R. Age 71, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, from cancer. Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 37 years, Gaylen. A native of Meadville, PA, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. During his career in engineering, risk management, and teaching, Larry worked for Rockwell International, Allegheny County Health Department Air Pollution Control, Rockwood Insurance Company of Rockwood, PA, Biltmore Insurance Group of Scottsdale, AZ, and most recently for Travaglini Enterprises of Meadville, PA, a holding company of hotels and restaurants. Larry lived and worked in Europe for several years, and taught skiing in Austria. He was an accomplished high mountaineer, participating in and leading expeditions to Peru and South America. He was a member of the Explorer's Club of Pittsburgh, chief instructor and expedition leader for Raven Rocks Mountain Institute of Ligonier, and founder and president of West Wind Mountaineering and Expeditions, Inc. A patient and devoted teacher, he helped many students gain the confidence and skill to rock climb, ice climb, backpack, and ski. Larry was a lifelong learner whose many skills and breadth of knowledge spanned a remarkable array of subjects. He enjoyed good food and wine and took particular pleasure in preparing a meal for friends. He was an exceptional chef who shared his culinary talents with many, inviting them into his kitchen for personal cooking lessons. He loved to travel, and explored many corners of the world with Gaylen by his side, their adventures together took them to Thailand, Burma, Austria, and other far flung places. He was loved and appreciated by colleagues and friends for his generosity of spirit. His devotion to Gaylen led him to be a full participant at Winchester Thurston School, where Gaylen worked for 40 years. Larry worked with students and parents in various volunteer capacities at the school through the years, developing many friendships and mentoring students. He will be missed by his family, especially his niece, Christy; and nephew, Michael. An open house reception for friends and family to celebrate Larry's life will be held on June 16, 2015, at Open Bottle Bistro (5884 Ellsworth Ave. in Shadyside) from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Friends are encouraged to make a contribution in Larry's memory to a charity or nonprofit of their choice. ROWBERG ELDON G. On Wednesday, June 3, 2015, age 92, of Mars, formerly of Woodland Hills, CA, died at Paramount Living Center in Mars. Born in Hanley Falls, MN, on October 31, 1922, he was the son of the late Gilbert Rowberg and Ida Voss Rowberg. Eldon first came to California when called to active duty as a member of the Minnesota Army National Guard in 1941. He served throughout the Second World War as an anti-aircraft artillery officer, rising to the rank of Captain in the Philippine Island campaign during 1944-45. After the war, he earned a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Minnesota and returned to California to work for the Hughes Aircraft Company in Culver City, CA. He eventually became the manager of the Airborne Display Systems Department at Hughes before retiring in 1978. He made his home in Woodland Hills, CA, until moving to Mars in 2006. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Tooney Rowberg, whom he married on August 4, 1950; a son, Brian Rowberg and his wife, Linda, of Anaheim, CA; and a daughter, Karen Arendt and her husband, Jim, of Adams Township; he is also survived by five grandchildren, Jason, Jeffrey, and Gregory Rowberg and their wives, and Michael and Karlee Arendt; and six great-grandchildren, Joshua, Samuel, Nathan, James, and Michael (sons of Jason Rowberg), Julia Claire (daughter of Jeffrey Rowberg); and a sister, Carol Jagusch, of Stillwater, MN. He worked for US Steel for 37 years starting as a management trainee in 1955. At USS he worked his way up through several positions in accounting and purchasing, became Vice President Purchasing and Traffic, a corporate officer and member of the board of directors. He retired in 1992 as President of USS Reality Co. and moved to Hilton Head Island, SC. He was a resident of Long Cove where he enjoyed playing golf with his neighbors and friends.
