She was born in McKees Rocks on November 10, 1931, to the late Edward and Steffie (Novak) Gasior. On July 13, 2010, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald G. Schneider, whom she married on May 22, 1954. BALL FLORENCE HELEN (CAMPBELL) On Saturday, May 2, 2015, "almost" 102, was born in Brazil, Indiana on July 12, 1913, to Emma and John Campbell on a day that was so hot that her father had to hang a garden hose to spray down the screens in the bedroom. After graduating from high school at 15, Florence studied stenography at Wabash Commercial College. She held various jobs until she became secretary to the director of the Indiana State Chamber of Commerce and Defense Council. She met her husband, Hiram Price Ball, Sr. on a blind date when he was a sales representative in Indianapolis. After two years in Indiana, he returned to Pittsburgh to work for Ball Chemical Co. because of his father's poor health. For three years, they saw each other once a year and never called or wrote each other. Florence was proposed to over the phone from the University Club and they were married on October 16, 1943. Hiram and Florence celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary where Florence wore her mother's wedding dress. Hiram passed away in 1999 after 56 years of marriage. Florence loved being a wife and a mother and supporting Hiram in all his Shrine and Masonic activities. Florence was always a Iady in the truest sense of the word. Florence and Hiram had three children, Hiram Price Ball, Jr. (Margot), Victoria Irene Ball (deceased) and Susan Campbell Ball. She also had two grandsons, Alexander McClure Ball (Erica) and Justin Campbell Ball; and two great- grandchildren, Felix Milo Ball and Matilda Charlotte Ball. Florence was a Past President and charter member of the North Hills Suburban Fine Arts League, Woman of the year for the Women's Club of Southern Butler County for furnishing the Middlesex Township grade School's teachers lounge and setting up their cafeteria. In addition to enjoying gardening, sewing, painting, traveling and bridge, Florence was a Cub Scout den mother and helped arrange the church flowers. She was President of the Mars High School Band Boosters and President, Board member of the North Hills Library. While living at the St. Barnabas Retirement Village, Florence was active as a floor coordinator, greeter and loved singing in the Choristers. Florence, previously from Ross Township and Mars, PA, resided at the St. Barnabas Arbors Courtyard in Gibsonia. Her family thanks all of the St. Barnabas staff for the friendship and care they gave their mother. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of Service at 11 a.m. at the BOCK FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. SOELL CHARLES AL Passed away peacefully at the Meridian Arms Living Center in Youngstown, Ohio on May 4, 2015, at the age of 91. He was born October 28, 1923, in Pittsburgh, PA and was a lifelong resident until he moved to Youngstown three years ago. Survived by his beloved wife, Bette; son, Charles Soell of Kittanning, PA; and daughter, Leslie (Rob) Soell Schuler of Youngstown, OH; grandfather of Kay Stivason, Charles Soell, Katie Fabian and John Schuler; and great-grandfather of Ryland and Finlay. Al served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked as a machinist at Bearing Service Company for over 40 years. He also worked at Forbes Field and Three Rivers Stadium as a guard where he had the opportunity to meet and know the baseball players. Al was an avid baseball fan who had an in depth knowledge of baseball statistics. His favorite team was the Pirates and was also a big Steelers fan. Al had a wonderful smile and great personality. LOEFFLER WILLIAM Age 89,passed away quietly at his O'Hara Township home May 8, 2015. Mr. Loeffler was a father, husband, composer, business executive and servant of God. A self-taught musician, Mr. Loeffler was a born performer who never met a piano he didn't like. He was also an accomplished yachtsman who sailed the Lake Erie Islands in the Galvanizer, his 26-foot sailboat. He sailed as far as Canada and up the St. Lawrence Seaway. As president of Hanlon-Gregory Industries, a hot-dip galvanizing company in Lawrenceville, he successfully steered it though the collapse of the steel industry in Western Pennsylvania. William Loeffler was born Aug. 4, 1925, the eighth of nine children of Josephine Heyl Loeffler and Albert Loeffler. Mr. Loeffler was the last surviving child. When the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor in 1941, he enlisted in he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and earned his wings as a bombardier. In tribute to his service, his grandson, Air Force Cadet Walker Heyl Loeffler, wears a gold prop and wings on his flight cap instead of silver. Mr. Loeffler also was a member of the Pittsburgh Field Club and the president of C-AD Industries, a sign company. He loved classical music and opera and enjoyed golf, tennis and bowling. He is survived by his wife, Audrey (Foizey) Loeffler; his five children, William Loeffler III (Michelle) of St. Paul, Minn., Thomas Loeffler (Betsy) of Boston, Mass., Richard Loeffler (Laura), of Fox Chapel Julie Andrews (Christopher) of Hampton and James Albert Loeffler (Mimi) of Fox Chapel; and nine grandchildren.
