
PARAGGIO G. EDMOND EDDIE Age 93, of Penn Hills, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. He was born in Italy and immigrated to the United States when he was 16 years old. He attended Westinghouse High School and graduated as class valedictorian in 1942. At Westinghouse, he met and eventually married his bride of 66 years, Carmella (Billie) Garofalo. Together, they raised a family while he worked as a bricklayer. He served in the US Army in the Military Police during WW II and later served as Guard of Honor at President Franklin Roosevelt's funeral. He was always a loving and giving individual and after his retirement, he volunteered for many years at Seneca Nursing Home, Meals on Wheels and the American Cancer Society. He is survived by his wife, "Billie"; sister, Santina Trevisiol (Rico), of Sudbury, Ontario, Canada; daughters, Debbie Ostien (Rick), of Tolland, CT, Cindy Franceschelli (Patsy), of Murrysville; and son, Paul Paraggio (Lynne), of Centreville, VA. He was a proud and loving grandfather and wonderful role model to Matt Ostien, Danielle Kneeland (Mike), Dante and Seve Franceschelli, and Alex and Carlo Paraggio. Several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly also survive him. Friends will be received from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2015, at CHARLES W. TRENZ FUNERAL HOME, 11110 Frankstown Rd., Penn Hills, PA 15235. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 26, 2015, at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church in Penn Hills, followed by interment in Allegheny Cemetery.
