SERRAPERE LOUIS M. “COCO” On Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, age 69, of East McKeesport, formerly of Wilmerding. Beloved husband of, and preceded in death by, the love of his life, Elizabeth (O'Connel) Serrapere; wonderful and devoted father of Amy (David) of N. Versailles and Michael (Dana) of Irwin; awesome and cherished "Pappy" to Melissa, Mario, Isabella Serrapere and Nico'lee Rohac; son of the late Mary Audrey (Bill) Enid, and the late John "Itsic" Serrapere; brother of Maryann Serrapere, Joann Serrapere, Jenna (David) Landis, and John "Dee Dee" Serrapere. Coco will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. He was employed at WABCO, Radform Tool, and the Union Switch & Signal. He also touched many lives while being the original proud owner of the Sports Page and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Friends received at JAMES F. MIKLIC PAUL “BUZZ” Age 76, of Beechview, formerly of Washington, PA, and Jacksonville, FL, on October 6, 2014. Buzz worked for the Association of the American Railroad. He retired from CSX Transportation in Jacksonville, FL after 35 years. Surviving is one sister, Virginia (Mario) Mullig, of Canonsburg. Buzz was most proud of his nephew and nieces, Robert Mullig of Chicago, Suzanne (Olen) Scott of Ashburn, VA, Amy (Craig) Antonio of McMurray, Maureen (Brian) Sullivan of Chicago; and great- nieces, Livia and Maria Antonio and Sydney, Sofia and Malia Scott. He was a special uncle and he will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, and their many friends who also came to know him as “Uncle Buzz”. SMOLCHEK BERNADETTE E. “BERNIE” June 17, 1939, to Oct. 5, 2014, Bernadette "Bernie" (McClelland) Smolchek, 75, passed away at her home at Hawthorne Village of Sarasota Health and Rehab, Sarasota, Florida on October 5, 2014. Bernie was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was the beloved daughter of the late Theckla Ketterer McClelland and James McClelland, Sr. of McKees Rocks, PA. Bernadette was the loving and devoted wife of her predeceased husband, Michael "Jim" Smolchek, Sr. She is survived by her children, Margaret Ferrino of Sarasota, Michael Smolchek, Jr., and Paul (Tamara) Smolchek, both of Wellington, Florida, and Karen Brady (Scott) of Virginia; she leaves seven beautiful grandchildren, Christopher Fahrny, Stephanie Muscati, Zachary, Johnathan and Kaitlin Brady, and Ryan and Olivia Smolchek. As Bernadette takes her rightful place next to her beloved Jim, she leaves behind her devoted sister, Margaret "Peg" Moore; and youngest brother, Robert "David" McClelland (Charlotte); as well as her loving sister-in-law, Rosemary Smolchek Bradley (Tom). She was predeceased by her brothers, Jim and Richard McClelland (Bobbie). Bernie loved and leaves many in-laws, nieces, and friends. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her warm smile, and generous spirit. Her greatest joy was having had the opportunity to stay at home and raise her four children, and, after moving to Sarasota, she began a successful 27 year career with Burdines Department Store at South Gate Mall. Bernie was known for her baking and cooking talent which she lovingly passed on to her children and grandchildren. Bernie's love and constant support and guidance of her children was second only to the enormous affection and pride she felt towards her seven grandchildren who knew her as their "Grammy". The family invites family and friends to a Catholic Memorial Mass for Bernadette at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 2506 Gulf Gate Dr., Sarasota, FL, at 9:30 a.m., Friday, October 10, 2014, followed immediately by a brunch reception in the church fellowship center. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to a memorial fund that will benefit children in need, set up in Bernadette's memory. JAMISON DORIS (FAIRFIELD) Of Bridgewater, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014, at Allegheny General Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Erle and Editha Fairfield. An active and faithful member of Trinity Anglican Church, Beaver, she had served as a lay reader, chalice bearer, vestry member, and former senior warden. She was also the former president of Beaver County Medical Society Auxiliary. Preceding her in death, besides her parents, were her husband of 26 years, James B. Jamison II, MD in 1978; and her sister, Barbara Bower in 1991. Surviving are two sons, James B. (Lynn) Jamison, Patterson Heights and Todd F. (Karen) Jamison, Golden, CO; a daughter, Katherine Jamison, Bridgewater; and two granddaughters, Emily J. (Dean) Paget and Caroline J. (Stephen) Snediker, all of Denver, CO. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. for a memorial visitation at NOLL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 333 Third St., Beaver. OCVIRK IRENE Age 86, of West Deer Twp., passed away Monday, October 6, 2014, at Concordia of Fox Chapel. Mrs. Ocvirk was born August 17, 1928, in Bairdford, to the late Alexander and Mary Kretchko, living her entire life in the West Deer area. She was a 1946 graduate of West Deer High School. Irene retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 16 years of service. She also worked alongside her husband at their family business, Fashion Dry Cleaners, in Oakmont and Gibsonia. Irene was a very active life member of St. Michael's Eastern Orthodox Church, and she enjoyed dancing, polka music, and cooking. She is survived by her sons, Robert C. (Debbie) Ocvirk of Butler and Ronald P. (Mary Lynn) Ocvirk of Robinson Twp.; grandchildren, Ashley, Alexandra and Michael Ocvirk. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995, Charles Ocvirk; and sisters, Anna and Helen Buchanich. PUSHCAR RICHARD Age 73, of Export, originally from Munhall, passed away on September 30, 2014. Born August 4, 1941, Richard was the son of the late Michael Pushcar and Pauline (Martin) Pushcar. Survived by his beloved children, Colette Pushcar of Brisbane, Australia and Brent Pushcar of Monroeville, PA; he also leaves behind his loving sister, Rita (Pushcar) Slava. Richard will also be missed by his wonderful extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. Richard graduated from Munhall High School in 1959 and attended Penn State University's McKeesport campus. He served in the U.S. Army for six years with an honorable discharge in 1968. He worked for the U.S. Post Office and later became a foreman at the U.S. Steel Homestead Works. During that time, he joined the PA Air National Guard and served his country for a total of 20 years. Richard had a wonderful sense of humor, a love for all sports, and a good heart. He will be missed by all. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Cathedral, Munhall.
