CRNIC CATHERINE (JACOBANSKY) Of Longwood at Oakmont, (formerly of Monroeville) passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2014. Born in Port Vue, PA, she was the daughter of the late Adolph and Anna (Timko) Jacobansky; dear wife for 58 years of the late Frank Crnic, Jr.; loving mother of Mary Ann (Bob) Stanutz of Monroeville, Kathy (Jack) Siembieda of Camp Hill, PA, Frank III (Jackie) Crnic of New Fairfield, CT, and Margaret Crnic of Falls Church, VA; proud nana of Katie, Ed and Sara Stanutz, Brian and Karen Siembieda, and Emily, Steven and Meg Crnic; sister of the late Adolph (late Ida), late Ann Reed (late Bill), late Steven, late Helen D'Annunzio (late Albert). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including Albert, Joseph and John D'Annunzio; her sister Helen's sons whose visits she enjoyed immensely. The Crnics moved to Longwood at Oakmont in 2002 from Monroeville where they lived for 45 years. They had been members of St. Irenaeus Church in Oakmont and were charter members of North American Martyrs Parish in Monroeville. Mrs. Crnic obtained her B.S. degree in education from Slippery Rock University and taught elementary school in the Port Vue School District for several years. After her children were raised, she returned to teaching as a substitute elementary teacher for the Gateway School District for approximately ten years. Formerly she served on the Monroeville Election Board during elections, and was a volunteer at Forbes Regional Health Center Gift Shop as a candy buyer. While at Longwood, Mrs. Crnic volunteered at the Three Gables Gift Shop. The Crnics traveled extensively during their retirement, throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe.
