EASLER LAVERN A. ERNIE Age 87, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014, at 4:00 p.m., from his residence. He was born December 17, 1926, in Shaler Twp., Pennsylvania, to the late Albert Easler and Gertrude (Hufnagel) Easler. Mr. Easler worked for Armour Meat Packing Company as a mechanic at Herr's Island in Pittsburgh, PA. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II in the European Theater. Mr. Easler was a lifetime member of the VFW Post # 118 in Millvale, PA. He was deeply devoted to his fellow veterans. Mr. Easler was Catholic by faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycle riding, gardening, traveling, and reading. Mr. Easler is survived by his wife, Dolores M. Easler, whom he married on September 18, 1947; one son, Rick A. Easler and his wife, Kim, of Glenshaw, PA; one daughter, Trudy E. Banks and her husband, John, of Connoquenessing, PA; one grandson, Sean Easler of Glenshaw, PA; one sister, Rita Mae Kunz of Baden, PA; also a sister-in-law, Sylvia Easler of Allison Park, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Sylvan "Red" Easler; and one sister, Garnetta Perkins. There will be no public visitation or funeral services.
