Paul was an avid outdoorsman, traveler, hiker, biker, skier, and camper, spending much time skiing in Colorado and backpacking with his wife and children in their favorite places in Hawaii, the Na Pali coast of Kauai, Hawaii volcanos, and the Haleakala crater in Maui. He also enjoyed many hiking and biking trips in Europe with the Colorado Mountain Club.
