NICORA JOHN, JR. OF WHITE OAK,...

NICORA JOHN, Jr. Of White Oak, died Thursday, January 19, 2017 at his residence. He was born in McKeesport on August 1, 1924 and was the son of the late John and Mary Bosga Nicora. He retired from Fisher Body Plant in West Mifflin where he was a tool and die maker. He served in the Army during WWII and was a Purple Heart recipient and he also received the French Legion of Honor Medal in July of 2016. He was a member of the White Oak American Legion, Post 701, the Christy Park Senior Citizens and was a former member of the White Oak Seniors. He was active at St. Mary Romanian Byzantine Catholic Church, which his parents were original founders. He was past president of council and served as an usher. He is survived by his wife, Anna Marie Bernardo Nicora; sons, John A. (Sherry) Nicora of Canton, Ohio, Robert J. (LaRene) Nicora of McKeesport and Daniel J. (Mary Sue) Nicora of Kettering, Ohio; grand- children, Carly (Bradley) Seliga, John T. (Shannon) Nicora, Theresa (Kris) Chadwell; step- grandchildren, Matthew (Shana) See and James See; great-grandchildren, Evalinna, Zackery, John Holden, and Everett; step-great-grand- children, Gabby, Annie, Molly, Seamus, Bella and Tori. Friends will be received on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 12-2 p.m. and 4-7 p.m. at STRIFFLER'S OF WHITE OAK CREMATION & MORTUARY SERVICES, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA (Sue Striffler Galaski, Supervisor 412- 678-6177). Services will be at St. Mary Romanian Byzantine Catholic Church at noon on Monday, January 23, 2017 with Very Rev. Iuliu Muntean officiating. Burial will follow.
