NORDENBERG SHIRLEY TAPPEN Age 90, died on Friday, December 4, 2015. She was a resident of the Villages at St. Barnabas and had been hospitalized at UPMC Passavant. She was a native of Superior, Wisconsin and also had lived in Duluth, Minnesota, Naperville, Illinois and Spring Hill, Florida, as well as Pittsburgh. In addition to being a committed wife and mother, she had worked as a teacher and librarian. She also was an avid and very good bridge player and had traveled extensively. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Nordenberg; her parents, Alfred and Evelyn Tappen; her sister, Loverna (Larry) Anderson; and her in-laws, Carl and Hulda Nordenberg. She is survived by her three children, Jon Nordenberg of Madison, Wisconsin, Lynne Nordenberg of Hilton Head, South Carolina and Mark (Nikki) Nordenberg of Pittsburgh; and by seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She will be buried with her husband in the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, following a private family ceremony.
