NAVARRA CHARLENE ANN Age 65, of Lakewood, CO, passed away peacefully, on November 15, 2015, with her family by her side. She suffered a brief illness following a stroke. Born in New Castle, PA on August 3, 1950, Charlene was the daughter of Delores (Dolly) Jean Phillips and the late Fred H. Navarra. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo D. Shelledy, whom she loved dearly. She was a graduate of Neshannock High School and a graduate of Methodist College. She lived most of her life in the Pittsburgh, PA area and moved to Lakewood, CO to be near her grandchildren in 2005. Charlene was a longtime employee of Moody Insurance Agency in Denver and formerly worked at Construction Insurance in Pittsburgh. She loved cooking, eating out, traveling with her family, the Pittsburgh Steelers, holidays and her crazy dog, Bailey. She loved going to the beach and recently had traveled to Texas and Georgia for family weddings and to the Broadmoor with her granddaughter for a 65th birthday celebration. She learned to enjoy travel in her son and family's camper in the Rockies. Most importantly, she cherished every single moment she spent with her grandchildren, Paige, Everett, Sylvia and Brooks Alcorn and Madison and Kylee Fullbright. She was a generous and caring woman, always taking care of others. Survivors include her mother, Delores Phillips of Ft. Myers, FL; two sons, Chris Alcorn and wife, Amy of Lakewood, CO and Brian Alcorn and wife, Kimberly of Denver, CO; seven stepchildren, Cathy Allen and husband, Bill of Marietta, GA, Diane Hulse and husband, Kirk of Collinsville, IL, Janie Gray and husband, Dave of Mars, PA, Guy Shelledy and wife, Tricia of Morgantown, WV, Karen Fruscione and husband, Sam of Marietta, GA, Dan Shelledy and wife, Vicky of The Woodlands, TX and Ross Shelledy and wife, Mary Sue of Chesterfield, MO. She is survived by her sister, Linda D'Augostine and husband, Carl of New Castle, PA, sister, Joanne Navarra of Charlottesville, VA; and brother, Richard Navarra of Wexford, PA. She is survived by her six grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will hold a memorial service in the Pittsburgh area at a later date to be announced.
