DITHRICH ANNE F. Age 87, of Sewickley, PA and Englewood, FL passed on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at her home surrounded by loving family and music. Born January 8, 1928, in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Dr. Brown and Emily (Nickel) Fulton. Beloved wife of the late Charles Dithrich; sister of the late Robert Fulton. As a young girl, Anne would accompany her father on house calls and hospital visits with her accordion, lifting spirits with her music as she would do so often over the course of her life. She attended Peabody High School, Penn Hall and Carnegie Tech where she studied piano. Anne was active in many local charitable organizations. She was a past president of the Child Health Association, chaired the Sewickley House Tour and was a long-standing member of the Trowel and Error Garden Club. She was also a member of the Junior League and Travelers Aid. She sang with St. Stephens Church choir for decades. A member of the Edgeworth Club, she was a favorite in many local productions, a natural on stage with great Broadway style. She had a great love of gardening, flower arranging, bird watching, reading, and crossword puzzles. She was also talented at paddle tennis and a formidable ping pong player. She divided her time between her Sewickley home and her beloved second home in Englewood, FL where she enjoyed walks on the beach, swimming, gathering with friends, and beautiful sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico. The family is grateful to the dedicated caregivers who made her final years ones of comfort and ease, and to her many friends, near and far, who made her life a true joy. She was like a songbird, never tiring of giving delight and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her four children, Charles (Andrea) Dithrich of Oakland, CA, Betsy (Sam) Halcomb of Sewickley, Will (Carmen) Dithrich of Santa Rosa, CA and Brown (Natalie) Dithrich of Moon Township; nine grandchildren, Kyle O'Rourke, Mickey O'Rourke, Hannah Dithrich, Carolin Dithrich, Lily Dithrich, Jonathan Dithrich, Annie Halcomb, Parker Dithrich, and Greyson Dithrich. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Animal Friends, The Nature Conservancy, or the World Wildlife Federation. Services are private. A memorial celebration of Annie's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by COPELAND'S FUNERAL HOME. Send condolences post-gazette.com/gb
